Treatment of psoriasis of the scalp in Cherkasy

Psoriasis is a dermatological disease of a non-infectious nature (dermatosis), which is characterized by a chronic course and a high tendency to relapse. The development of this pathology leads to the formation of areas of the scalp with pronounced inflammation and irritation.

Causes and symptoms of psoriasis on the head

The basis of psoriasis of the scalp is the accelerated life cycle of the cells of the epidermis and local capillaries. New skin cells are synthesized and function for 5 days, after which they die off, and in their place dry, scaly silvery spots with an inflamed red area around them - plaques (or papules) are formed. Also, the clinical manifestations of the disease are itching, dandruff and dermatitis.

With extensive lesions, psoriatic plaques can be localized not only throughout the scalp but also spread:

  • on the back of the neck;
  • on earlobes;
  • behind the ears (with the formation of moist skin cracks);
  • on the forehead (in the area of the front edge of hair growth).

In the clinical symptomatology of psoriasis, trichologists distinguish three main symptoms or the “psoriatic triad”, namely:

  • the phenomenon of "stearic stain", in which papule scraping exposes the skin surface of white color due to the accumulation of dead epithelium;
  • the phenomenon of the "terminal film", demonstrating the presence of a red shiny skin under the layer of flakes;
  • the phenomenon of "blood dew" - in the affected areas act point discharge of blood.

Reliably the cause of the disease has not yet been established, but in dermatology, it is believed that the disease is transmitted genetically and is associated with some features of the structure of the epidermis and the tendency to accelerate the renewal of skin cells. The immune reaction (inflammation) in response to the formation of psoriatic plaques irritates the epidermis, thereby stimulating the production of new skin cells.

There are a number of factors provoking the development of the disease or contributing to its aggravation:

  • infectious diseases (especially caused by streptococcus or viruses);
  • chronic diseases of internal organs (pathologies of the biliary tract, etc.);
  • helminthic invasions (giardiasis, etc.);
  • constant exposure to cold on the scalp;
  • unhealthy diet (an excess of simple carbohydrates and cocoa beans by-products);
  • alcoholism, etc.
