Health check-up in Cherkasy

Health is one of the main values in human life.

But in order to preserve it for many years, it is important not only to get rid of bad habits and adhere to a healthy lifestyle, but also to do regular check-up of the body. A comprehensive medical examination is needed, even if nothing bothers you.

We make:

Check-up of the body allows you to make sure that everything is in order with health or to detect a disease at an early stage, when it is not yet accompanied by symptoms and its treatment is most effective. The health diagnostic program is selected for the patient depending on gender, age, lifestyle and other factors.

What is health check-up?

Regular health checks in our country have not yet become a widespread practice, so many people still do not know what a check-up is and why it is needed. Check-up is a comprehensive diagnostic program for the body to detect diseases at an early stage. The procedure includes all the necessary tests and examinations that allow doctors to get a complete picture of the processes taking place in the patient’s body. Any detected deviation allows conducting clarifying examinations to formulate the correct diagnosis, develop a treatment regimen and prevent possible diseases.

Check-up is carried out in one day according to different programs that differ depending on the patient’s gender. The price for health diagnostics depends on the scope of tests performed and the number of medical consultations.

Who needs to undergo check-up?

A complete body examination is suitable for people seeking to maintain their health.

Doctors recommend undergoing check-up at least once a year, especially for the following categories of people:

  • those who experience vague symptoms (increased fatigue and drowsiness, apathy, decreased ability to work);
  •  those who plan a trip or long-term business trip to ensure that the trip goes without serious health problems;
  • those who have not previously undergone a comprehensive examination, and who want to get a general idea of the state of health;
  • those who plan a child: both partners must undergo health diagnostics, since pathologies such as hypothyroidism, hepatitis B, toxoplasmosis, sexually transmitted infections reduce the likelihood of conception, and can also cause complications during pregnancy;
  • after 40 years: with age, the risk of developing chronic pathologies (cardiovascular diseases, diabetes mellitus, osteoporosis, etc.) increases. Many of them can be prevented if you undergo a medical check-up every year, adjust your lifestyle and follow doctor’s recommendations;
  • those who have a hereditary predisposition to the development of certain pathologies. If someone from close relatives is diagnosed with diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular, oncological or other diseases, this is a good reason to undergo a full examination of the body;
  • those who have bad habits: smoking or alcohol abuse take a heavy toll on health and affect negatively the functioning of the whole body;
  • those who work in hazardous industry or live in an ecologically polluted area. A full health check is needed even if working conditions improve or the place of residence is changed, since these adverse factors can negatively affect health even after several years;
  • those who had COVID-19. Coronavirus infection can affect vital organs and systems of the body - lungs, heart, blood vessels, which also increases the likelihood of developing health problems in the future.

Upon arrival at the medical center, the patient goes to the therapist (coordinating doctor), who refers him for diagnostics and testing. Complete health diagnostics takes just one day.

What is the difference between check-up for men and women?

Differences in check-up programs for men and women are due to the peculiarities of their physiology, which ultimately affects the type and amount of test required. Therefore, the price of check-up for women under the program is at least higher than for men.

To assess the key health indicators, a woman is scheduled for appointment with a therapist and gynecologist. The female reproductive system is more fragile, since its proper functioning depends on many factors: hormonal balance, age, lifestyle, genetics, etc.

The check-up for women, in addition to consulting by gynecologist, also includes ultrasound examination of mammary glands, pelvic organs and a smear for urogenital microflora. These tests allow detecting pathological changes at an early stage, which is very important for effective treatment and maintaining reproductive health.

The check-up for women also includes a blood test for thyroid hormones responsible for the body’s metabolism. One of the most important tests in the diagnostics of women’s health is video colposcopy - examination of vagina and cervix under multiple optical magnification. Video colposcopy allows to detect pathological changes in tissues - erosion, endometriosis and cervical cancer in the early stages, when symptoms are still absent.

For assessment of key health indicators, men make appointment with a therapist and urologist. The basic check-up for men, in addition to blood tests and electrocardiogram, includes examination of hormonal status (testosterone, thyroid hormones, etc.), which affects reproductive function and general well-being.

The checkup for men also provides for the examination of sperm and prostate secretions for microflora to detect inflammatory genitourinary system diseases. In the extended version of the check-up, a man is tested for major sexually transmitted infections.

Why to undergo a check-up?

The importance of regular health checks is difficult to overestimate, as it helps to avoid the development of many serious diseases that significantly affect the quality and duration of life. You need to go through the check-up in order to:

  • get comprehensive information about your health status. The diagnostic results will also be useful in consultation with a family doctor or other specialist;
  • identify a predisposition to the development of certain pathologies (diabetes mellitus, arterial hypertension, atherosclerosis and so on) and take timely measures to reduce the risk of contracting them;
  • save money on treatment. The cost of the check-up is much lower than the cost of long-term therapy or surgery;
  • diagnose the disease in time and prevent the development of complications;
  • increase life expectancy;
  • save life - most cancers detected at an early stage can be successfully treated.

How often do you need to undergo check-ups?

The recommended frequency of the body’s check-up depends on gender, age, lifestyle, hereditary predisposition to the development of serious diseases and the general state of human health. The World Health Organization recommends that you undergo a complete diagnosis of the body at least once a year, even in the absence of health complaints.
